Art Contest Winner Announced

Congratulations Aline Nguyen - "Is that a Blank Wall?"

It began with an idea and developed into 9 stunning concepts reflective of some wise and wonderful perspectives that resonate well within our great community.  On display in centre court for the month of January, these concepts would garner a steady audience of passersby impressed by the collective talent these students displayed.  Voting (both public and via our panel of judges), wrapped up and our Awards Ceremony took place on the 27th in a fanciful reception that was well received by our artists and their families...

In the end it was Aline Nguyen's "Is that a Blank Wall?" that took the top award and corresponding $500 shop! card®.

Mayor Barrow and local media came to celebrate her achievement and to toast a class that is worthy of much applause.  The festivities would mark the end of a great initiative and would commence the final phase of the AMHS and Hillcrest Art contest as Aline's work will now be installed as a permanent mural in the common area of our washrooms. To AMHS we thank you - the students, teachers and families for being instrumental in making this effort such a success.  And to our Mayor and the local media we salute you for supporting these students in an endeavor that will stay with them as they continue to cultivate their craft today and beyond.  The Art Contest is one that Hillcrest feels most proud of - not of the competition, as these students are all winners, but of the dedication and labor that went into this success.  Congratulations again Aline!!
